I wanted to share our conversion experience, as I'm sure many churches are thinking about converting to widescreen format. When our projector failed, we took the opportunity to replace it with a projector which would take the widescreen input from a PC (1280x768). It's not native HD or widescreen, but it's configured as such. We had a monitor at the front for the worship team and pastor, but it would not take that resolution as an input. Fortunately, we had enough of a budget at the time to procure a second projector which we mounted at the ceiling and shot onto a 16:9 screen on the back wall. We didn't have to replace our main screen because it's a massive drop down that I'm convinced was stuck in a warehouse and sold to the church at a large discount - it's entirely too large for the sanctuary, especially in 4:3. We split the output from our PC and both projectors get the same image. Occasionally, we blank the front projector when a performer wants the words on the back wall. IP control of the projectors makes it easy.
